How to Choose which Canine Dog Food to Buy.

How to Choose which Canine Dog Food to Buy.

Make sure you don't buy canine dog food just because it's cheap or just because the packaging looks nice.

Most popular canine dog food brands are actually very harmful and can shorten the lifespan of your furry friend. There are three ingredients you MUST avoid: Wheat, Corn, and By-products.

READ THE INGREDIENTS. The first 3 ingredients should be some specific type of meat (this does NOT include anything with the word "meal" after it). If you see the words "Wheat," "Corn," or "By-products" put the bag back on the shelf.

READ THE GUARANTEED ANALYSIS - CHECK FOR HIGH PROTEIN. The protein level should be at least 20%, and at least 30% if you have an active or high energy dog. Dogs are meat-eaters!

TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION WHAT KIND OF DOG YOU HAVE. If your dog is overweight, consider getting something with a fat content below 14% and do not feed them treats on the side. If your dog is VERY active, get something with very high protein and medium/high fat.
